Monkey With A Tool Belt and the Craftiest Christmas Ever by Chris Monroe

I read an arc of this book from NetGalley with my 4 year old. He is a big fan of the Netflix series but we had not read one of the books before. I was a little thrown that Chico looks a little different than he does in the show but my son was not. He did not seem to notice.

The illustrations were great and I imagine all of the tiny little details will be more appreciated in a good sized picture book edition. Similar to If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff; I imagine It to be the kind of book kids would go back through on their own over and over to look at all the picture details.

The story was nice and a good length for his attention span. I liked that Chico repurposed items for his gifts.

5/5 for us. Would buy.
